PDFine

Private local PDF OCR

Recognize text in scanned PDFs from your browser.

PDFine can analyze scanned pages and extract text with local OCR when the required engine is available in the browser. The goal is to keep your documents on your device and avoid unnecessary uploads.

Open PDFine and choose OCR PDF Load the document, run local OCR, and review the recognized text before exporting.

When to use it

Privacy and limits

OCR uses CPU and memory. On iPhone, iPad, or low-memory devices, work with smaller documents or page ranges, especially when the PDF contains high-resolution images.

Offline support depends on the app and OCR engine already being available in cache. If resources are missing, PDFine should report that clearly and keep a clean fallback.

Recommended flow

  1. Open PDFine.
  2. Load the scanned PDF.
  3. Choose OCR PDF and wait for progress.
  4. Review the detected text and export only when the result is correct.
